The hypercasual blockchain recreation developer mentioned it would use the funds to speed up the event of its upcoming recreation PixelPals. Based on the announcement, the sport is scheduled for launch within the first quarter of 2024.
Pixelmon’s first hypercasual recreation Kevin the Adventurer was launched in October 2023. Deployed on Coinbase’s layer-2 blockchain, Base, the sport onboarded 36,000 gamers in its first month, clocking 10,100 hours performed.
The massively multiplayer on-line roleplaying recreation (MMORPG) is developed by LiquidX Studios has developed its personal IP for video games, which it gives by its IP functionalisation system dubbed Mon Protocol.
The sport incentivises gamers with non-fungible tokens which have fractional advantages, thus enabling holders to have partial possession of in-game property, together with recreation characters’ IP.
Commenting on his firm’s participation within the fundraising, Yat Siu, the co-founder and government chairman of Animoca Manufacturers mentioned in a press release: “The decentralised IP system that Mon Protocol is establishing is critical as a result of it would empower artistic communities and IP core fan base to take part actively within the long-term success of a client franchise.”
Pixelmon is headed by LiquidX co-founder and CEO, Giulio Xiloyannis, who was additionally a part of the workforce behind Southeast Asian trend retailer Zalora.
